OF DESTINATIONS, REGRETS AND GUIDED MASTERY!

I am aware that I am an incredibly blessed man. There is no need to pretend, really. Well, what I call my blessing in this context IS THE PEOPLE I AM PRIVILEGED TO HAVE BEEN INSPIRED BY and I must say, I stand in awe of humans especially the folks around my life. I have an appreciation for people that compel me to honour these beautiful creations of God regardless of our differences and that’s what honour truly is. Honour differs from agreement. My blood boils when I see dishonour, when I hear dishonour, when I read dishonour in the name of whatever it’s called and whatever the premise is. I literally think it’s lack of appreciation for difference and compulsion for uniformity. Tyranny is born out of the womb of dishonour and lack of appreciation for the belief of another. I HOLD DEARLY THE RIGHT TO DISAGREE but I must hold very DEARLY the injunction to honour                                                                                                             all men.

I thank God for darlings that I have met in my life, gosh! I feel like mentioning names right now, from the cools to the crazies to the stubborn, YET all Godly. They are every shade of inspiring. But I want to speak on a particular set of people in life without whom your journey will be long and full of pain. You might eventually arrive at your destination without them but you will be full of scars. YOU OUGHT TO START PAYING ATTENTION TO THEM IF YOU MUST MAKE SOME PROGRESS and these are MENTORS. Thank God for my mentors. God bless you, Sirs. I am honoured you agreed to guide me unto mastery. Twice to the Corinthian Church, Apostle Paul told them to follow him.

1 Corinthians 4:16

Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

1 Corinthians 11:1

Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Also let’s look at this,

Philippians 3:17

Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

It may look a little absurd that this solicitation is coming from Paul. In that you might imagine, “Why did he not leave it to them to choose whether they wanted to follow him or not?” The answer is simple. HE KNEW THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CHOICES THEY MADE OF WHOM TO TAIL, so he admonished them as such. Who you follow determines the destination you arrive at eventually. Paul deemed it fit to instruct them on followership. He was specific. He did not try to sound noble, saying “JUST FOLLOW ANYONE YOU LIKE” or “KEEP AN OPEN MIND” Truth is, sometimes, open minds are too porous to hold any solid convictions in life. On certain matters of destiny, you must be RIGID.

We need mentors. God has put people ahead of you and it’s your wisdom to recognize them, position yourself and follow them. They will bless you greatly like they have blessed me. Funny enough, I am not too close to a number of them but God has blessed me with a keen sense of observation. I have learnt so much by watching. Most of my mentors are quite busy and I am happy they are. They are doing important things with their lives. Don’t let any devil deceive you that you are the one people should follow and you don’t need to follow anybody. That in itself is followership. It’s just the followership of self and Satan. It’s that desire to rise above everyone who is ahead of you but coated with “Jesus”, wrapped in the swaddling cloth of good intentions labelled, ‘Fighting for what is right’ but not so. If your own mentor does not want to follow anyone. HE IS THE ONE THAT IS ALWAYS RIGHT. EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG. DONT FOLLOW SUCH. To annoy such a person, ask him about his mentors and spiritual father. If a man tells you at his young age that all the people he follows and can follow are dead. Tell him, we can’t follow him too until he dies. Hahaha!

He tells you there is no one alive worthy of his followership, you better run. He may not mention it but you can deduce from his teachings and write-ups. Everyone is below him or are his colleague. That’s a potential devil. Keep off. When he goes off and most likely he will soon be, he has no one to call him to order. No one to correct him. No one to discipline him.

Let’s see the first personality to do this

Isaiah 14:13-15

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

It’s usually a demonstration of pride concealed under sweet sounding words like, “My ministry is different” or “I am pioneering something new” Lol. Just like Paul was intentional as to recommending who they should follow, I believe you should exercise the same level of intentionality about who you follow. Mentorship is an invitation to guided mastery. Guided Mastery is following someone’s guidance and leading to mastering an art, a thing or a virtue. WHOSOEVER YOU CHOOSE TO FOLLOW WILL GUIDE YOU INTO CERTAIN MASTERIES UNCONSCIOUSLY, whether mastery of strife or mastery of love; whether mastery of graciousness or mastery of bitterness; whether mastery of kindness or mastery of selfishness; whether mastery of rebellion or mastery of humility. You ought to be aware of “cloaked intentions.” Cloaked intentions are when certain things are paraded but something else is intended. When we say it’s all about God but it is really all about self.

I know dear ones who simply by following certain folks mastered strife at an alarming speed that we almost couldn’t recognize them anymore. We wondered when they got lost in the jungle of envy. Guided Mastery is one of the greatest benefits of followership. There are things you don’t know now but simply by simply following someone, you end up becoming a PRO. My prayer for you is that you choose correctly, by observing values, principles, results (DONT MIND ANYONE WHO TELLS YOU RESULTS DON’T MATTER they will use your life for experiment and lead you to an arid land of theories) and lifestyle. Will you follow a man who teaches BODMAS but can’t solve a simple equation with the same BODMAS? I wouldn’t, you may. If the values are right, you are guided into the mastery of right values; if the principles are right, you are guided into the mastery of right principles. If the results are right, you are guided into the process of obtaining good results. If the lifestyle is right, you are guided into right living.

I hope this is simple enough.

WELCOME TO FREEDOM
